Taylor Pond Yacht Club Invitational Sailing Regatta

Eligible to compete: Taylor Pond residents , Taylor Pond Yacht Club members , and

their guests of all ages.

Eligible boats: Any sail powered boat. Bring your own.  Classes expected:  Optimist Pram, Turnabout, Wave Rider, Hobie 14, 16, 17, Sunfish , Lightning, Flying Junior, Laser, Reverso. If it floats and sails, it’s welcome. 

Required equipment: A life preserver worn by each person aboard.

Cost: None

Format: Pursuit race. Slowest boat starts first, fastest boat starts last. Start times will

be assigned based on the Portsmouth Yardstick handicap system. No mass start. Easy

starting format for sailors new to racing.

Schedule:

2:00 PM: Contestants meeting - information about race; questions answered -

all contestants on the clubhouse deck.

2:45 PM: Starting times announced. Boats leave beach.

4:30 PM : (or as soon thereafter as the last boat finishes) Awards and social

hour on the deck at TPYC

Please register early as the handicapper has to do some arithmetic to give you a
