Opening Tasks 2020

In a typical year, most if not all of these projects are taken care of on Opening Day. Preventing the spread Coronavirus precludes that kind of close-quarters effort. As an alternative, we are offering members the opportunity to pick projects from this list and complete them on their own before June 15.

UPDATE: June 2- Give 2 Hours to TPYC on June 4. Bob Hayes is coordinating with Member Craig Tribuno to use his tractor to place wood chips in the boat storage area on Thursday (June 4) at 6 PM. But also needs many club volunteers to help complete site prep work like mowing and placing the weed barrier in advance of placing the chips. Then help with moving the racks and boats back into place. Bob has asked that as many people as possible come by to lend a hand beginning at 5 PM on Thursday (June 4). The more that come, the faster the work will go.

UPDATE: June 1- There are a few small and a few big tasks left. Anything that has been completed or which have volunteers lined up for 2020 Opening has been archived. Thank you, Volunteers!

UPDATE: May 26- Completed tasks are indicated with strikethrough over the name of the task and will say “Closed” after Open Volunteer Spots. Thank You volunteers!

Here’s how it works:

  • Find some projects that suit your preferences and group size
    • They are listed by project types
    • Most are for one or two people, but some require a group effort
  • Figure out a day and time when you can do the work
  • Click the links and volunteer and submit your contact
    • Each volunteer for a project must submit their contact individually
    • You’ll get an email and a reminder when it’s time to do the work
  • Do the project – Coordinate with Mik Morrissey for tools & supplies
  • Remember to practice social distancing, even outside
  • Finish your projects by June 15
  • Cross the item off the paper list at the club
  • Pat yourself on the back for doing a great job
